Less Invasive Colon Surgery Results in Fewer Blood Clots: Study

THURSDAY, June 23 (HealthDay News) — Minimally invasive colon surgery reduces the risk of blood clots in the deep veins compared with traditional surgery, University of California, Irvine, researchers report.

Deep vein blood clots, called venous thromboembolism (VTE), occur in about a quarter of patients who have colorectal surgery, the researchers said. The benefits of less invasive laparoscopic surgery also include faster recovery time and a smaller scar, but these advantages may not be enough to bring about a widespread switch from traditional surgery.

“From the cancer perspective, this does not appear to be a game changer,” said Dr.

Selphyl, The Vampire Face Lift

The Vampire Face-Lift is also known as a procedure called Selphyl. It is an in office procedure that requires the patient have blood drawn from their arm and put into a centrifuge. The centrifuge then separates the platelets from the rest of the blood. The platelets are then injected into the face in the hopes that it will stimulate collagen production in the areas which are prone to wrinkling. This procedure is known as the Vampire Face Lift because of the way that it uses the patients own blood to make their face look younger and fuller.

“We’re amassing evidence that weight loss is a very important part of changing the way the body’s systems work in people with high-risk diseases like diabetes and heart disease,” chief investigator Gary D.

Slimy Coating Inside Lip and Tongue

Had this symptom for a year.Do not have a `burning sensation`, so I don`t believe it`s BMS. Is not alleviated with changes in toothpaste or mouthwash. Mostly annoying and chronic. Seen by dentist, oral surgeon, and hygienist, but they do not know how to help. What could this be and how do I get rid of this? I am healthy and do not take medications.

Thank you for your question.  What makes this confusing is that not all BMS cases burn. The simple fact that three separate health care professionals: a dentist, an oral surgeon and a hygienist don’t know what the problem is or how to help should not be minimized or ignored. I
