Higher Medicaid Payment Levels To Dentists Increases Likelihood Of Children And Adolescents Receiving Dental Care
According to a report published in the July 13 issue of JAMA, between the years 2000 and 2008, although children and adolescents in the U.S that had higher Medicaid payment levels to dentists were more likely to receive dental care, they still received dental care less often compared to children with private insurance. Big Mountain Drugs Now Offers Generic Versions of Lipitor from Canada
Atorvastatin, marketed in the US by Pfizer under the brand name Lipitor, is a blockbuster drug that is consistently the world’s top-selling prescription medication. The introduction of generic versions of Lipitor in Canada and other countries in 2010 eroded Pfizer’s market share, but US sales alone were still close to $2.5 billion last year.
A member of the drug class statins, atorvastatin is prescribed to treat high cholesterol and to reduce the risk of heart attack in people with heart disease or other risk factors.

Gene Implicated In Craniosynostosis, Delayed Tooth Eruption And Supernumerary Teeth
Researchers have described a new, recessively inherited human syndrome featuring craniosynostosis, maxillary hyperplasia, delayed tooth eruption and extra teeth. They also identified causative mutations in a gene IL11RA. In craniosynostosis, the sutures between skull bones become ossified prematurely, affecting skull shape and limiting space for the growth of the brain. It is observed in 1:2500 and often requires operative surgery. Supernumerary teeth are more common, and in most cases they also require dental surgery. A combination of these anomalies was observed in four children of a Pakistani family living in Denmark. Extra teeth developed in positions suggesting that they may represent a third set of teeth, the formation of which is normally prevented in humans. Read full post…
