Maybe Schools Don’t Control What Kids Eat

Bans on soda and “junk food” in public schools, while less objectionable than policies aimed at adults, have always struck me as symbolic. Since what kids eat (not to mention how much energy they expend) is determined by so many factors other than what’s available at school, it seems unrealistic to expect that getting rid of vending machines selling candy bars, potato chips, and sugary drinks will have a noticeable impact on their diets or waistlines.

Colds impair driving

Drivers with cold symptoms rank up there with drunk or texting drivers as being another hazard on the road. Thats the consensus of several studies that found sick drivers have a 50 percent drop in driving ability which is the equivalent of downing four double whiskeys. Drivers under the influence of cold medicine were found to be as dangerous as someone driving drunk, according to a study by a British insurance company. Researchers in a different study found that cold sufferers were 33 percent more likely than healthy drivers to crash into a curb. In Britain, some officials are considering prosecuting sick drivers. E. Coli Death Toll In Germany

The E. coli death toll in Germany has claimed now 30 people.

More than 2,800 people have been reported ill in 14 countries so far and the true source of the problem hasnt been determined and that has authorities scrambling to figure out how the outbreak occurred.

Previously Spain had been blamed for the outbreak causing them to have their produce banned racking up a huge amount of lost capital. Parisian Carrots – Baby’s Puree or Family’s Ginger Carrot Soup? Recipe for Carrot Baby Food and Ginger Carrot Soup

Two days ago I steamed up so many that I could have feed an entire rabbit herd (yes, a group of rabbits is called a herd now you know!).  Today I took the extras and created 2 recipes that babies and older kids like us can enjoy as well.

My left overs equaled about 4 heaping (carrots dropping out and rolling across the kitchen) cup fulls.  I pureed them, without adding any liquid.  I easily could have filled 2 ice cube trays with this lovely orange puree. Th
